Boys & Girls Swimming secures win Vs. East Chicago and Bishop Noll

The Michigan City High School Boys and Girls Swimming & Diving teams traveled to East Chicago High School on January 12th for a tri-meet against Bishop Noll and East Chicago. It was a good night for both programs, as the boys and girls teams came away with wins over both schools. The girls team finished on top with a score of 46 points, ahead of East Chicago’s 19 and Bishop Noll’s 16. The boys team also secured the win, scoring 36 points, with East Chicago finishing at 26 and Bishop Noll close behind at 23. There were strong performances across the lineup. The girls medley relay and boys medley relay both finished first, setting the tone early in the meet. In individual events, Jaren Swindell had another strong night, picking up first-place finishes in the 200 IM and the 100 Backstroke. Mason Parry continued to contribute on the boys side, earning a first-place finish in the 200 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly . On the girls side, Maddie Parry picked up a first-place finish in the 200 Freestyle, while Batoul Achy finished first in the 100 Backstroke. Emmalee Kemp also earned a win in the 500 Freestyle, helping add valuable points for the girls team Coach Nick Nau was especially excited to compete against Bishop Noll and come away with a victory, as that is where he graduated from, making the meet a little more personal. Overall, it was a solid night for Michigan City Swimming & Diving. The teams competed well, raced hard, and continue to show progress as the season moves forward.
