The Michigan City Varsity Wolves were defeated by Portage, 20-2, on Thursday. Portage put together a big first inning to take an early lead and added on in the second. The Wolves continued to compete and work through innings following the early deficit. Derrek Fowler started on the mound for the Wolves. Michigan City worked to settle in defensively after the opening frame and continued to battle throughout the game. At the plate, Kameron Timm and Jacob Hazel each drove in a run for the Wolves. Timm, Hazel, and Mahdi Mroueh each recorded a hit. The Wolves will look to respond as they travel to Calumet Christian for their next matchup on Friday.
