Michigan City Varsity Wolves Earn Win Over Hammond Morton

The Michigan City Varsity Wolves secured a 7-5 victory over Hammond Morton on Saturday at Kankakee Valley High School. The Wolves got on the board in the third inning, using a sacrifice fly from Jordan Tobias and capitalizing on a wild pitch to take the lead. Michigan City continued to apply pressure offensively throughout the game. On the mound, Jacob Hazel earned the win, allowing three runs on three hits over five innings while striking out five. Brennan Cosich closed the game to earn the save. The Wolves totaled nine hits on the day, with Zach Williams and Hazel each recording two hits. Micah McCullough, Tobias, Cosich, Hazel, and Mahdi Mroueh each drove in a run. Michigan City showed discipline at the plate, drawing eight walks, and was aggressive on the basepaths with eight stolen bases. Defensively, the Wolves turned a double play. The Wolves will look to carry momentum into their next game as they host Chesterton on Tuesday at 4:30 PM.
