Varsity Boys Volleyball vs Portage High School ends in a loss, but begins a new shift. With the start of the second half of the season commence Thursday night against the Portage Indians, the Michigan City boys volleyball team started a few new faces in the first set. Dylan Nelson, Landon Harrison, and Mason Burgeon all started their first ever volleyball games in their careers! It was a refreshing turn of events when a few starters were able to see a different side of the ball. Our program had a blast supporting one another and celebrating the little things in the game. Nelson, Harrison, and Burgeon made the most of the set by creating milestones. Harrison was able to get his first kill AND first ace in back to back attempts at the ball. They came when he was in zone 2 in our rotation and then hit on the outside pin after transitioning to his offensive position. Once he earned the kill, he then rotated to the service line and served a deep ball to zone 5 on the Indians side of the court. The result ended in his first ever ACE! This is what volleyball should be about. F.U.N. and growth within a program. This is the start of something new. Our next match will be on Saturday, April 18th at the Westville High School Invitational at 8am against Hobart High School and then Northridge High School at 9am. Go Wolves!
