The MCHS girls track team participated in a meet at LaPorte high school along with Valparaiso. By far the best scoring meet since I have been their coach with 26 points scored against LaPorte. 1st place against LaPorte in high jump was Iyahni Grinston clearing 4’6”, 2nd in the 800 was Kristina Sydoruk with a time of 2:50. 2nd in the long jump against Valpo and LaPorte was Gianna VanNorman with a jump of 14’11.5”. Alissa Gilyard scored a second place against LaPorte in the 400 with a time of 1:06. Mia Brown took a 3rd place against LaPorte with a time of 14:28. Lucy Murphy took a second against LaPorte in the 300 hurdles and 200 meters with times of 57.28 and 28.97. Maddy Parry scored a 3rd against LaPorte in the 800 and a second against LaPorte in the 3200 with times of 2:51 and 14:25. JaeLynn King scored a 2nd place in 100 meters with a time of 13.81. Lastly, Mayim Barishman scored her 1st varsity points by placing 3rd against LaPorte with a time of 58.47 in the 300 hurdles. Next meet is JV DAC on Saturday, May 9th at Valparaiso High School.
