The Michigan City Wolves traveled Friday afternoon to South Bend Washington for a day of some fun and light-hearted competition with the Panthers. At No. 1 singles, Eli Green delivered the day’s most competitive performance, battling through long rallies and momentum swings before securing a well-earned win. Senior Aeden Phillips made his first varsity appearance at No. 2 singles, officially lettering and marking a memorable milestone in his Wolves career. At No. 1 doubles, Thomas Chatfield and Nic Williams added another win to their season, improving their record to 12-2. The match was full of laughs and lighthearted moments shared between both doubles teams, playing with the kind of energy and joy that defines their partnership. At No. 2 doubles, Seniors Riley Emshwiller-Sowards and Jaren Swindell teamed up for a fun win of their own. The pairing was especially meaningful, as Riley, after knowing each other since freshman year, encouraged Jaren to join the team. Their victory reflected not only the fun in tennis, but also the closeness and friendships continuing to grow within the Wolves’ lineup. The weekend wrapped up with the team’s Tag Day fundraiser at Al’s on Karwick, where the Wolves once again came out winners. The morning began with rain showers, but skies cleared and the community showed up in full support. The baked goods table — fully stocked thanks to the efforts of the teams’ parents, family, and friends — was a huge hit, and the variety and generosity on display really showed how much the families back the program. The Wolves couldn’t be more thankful for their parents, whose support makes moments like these possible both on and off the court!!
