Wolves Sweep East Chicago in Varsity and JV Play

The Michigan City Wolves turned in a dominant performance Monday afternoon, defeating East Chicago Central 5-0 in varsity play and securing wins across the board in junior varsity action as well. At No. 1 singles, Riley Emshwiller-Sowards played steady, controlled tennis in a 6-2, 6-2 win. Jacob Hazel followed with a flawless performance at No. 2 singles, rolling to a 6-0, 6-0 victory. At No. 3 singles, Jaren Swindell continued his strong play, earning a 6-1, 6-0 win. In doubles, Thomas Chatfield and Nic Williams stayed consistent at the top spot with a 6-0, 6-2 win, while Eli Green and Zach Williams dominated at No. 2 doubles, cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 victory. The Wolves’ depth shined in junior varsity play as well. Carson Groszek battled to an 8-3 win at No. 1 singles, while Aeden Phillips also earned an 8-3 win at No. 2 singles. In doubles, Finn Hendricks and Trenton Vittatoe pulled out a competitive 8-6 victory to complete the sweep for City. The Wolves improve their season record to 8-4 overall. Michigan City hosts the Laporte Slicers this afternoon starting at 4:30. Go City!!
