IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week (9/22/25) "Promoting Education Based Athletics in Indiana" Managing your expectations in your sport can be and will be frustrating from time to time. For example, you feel good when you play well and are winning! It is just the opposite if you don't perform well and the outcome is a loss. Your team may have played well and you didn't. It is possible that you played well but the team lost. As a result, it can be difficult to balance team goals and what you perceive as your individual goals. Put the results of each game into perspective. Whether you win or lose, there is going to be a next game or match to focus on. The sun will always come up the next day, regardless. The best way to handle and maintain your focus is to not dwell on the past. Look ahead to the next challenge and use all the previous games as your book of reference!
